Definitions

• Service: The web-based tool available at hiker.at.
• Operator: The owner and creator of the Service.
• User: Any individual who accesses or uses the Service.

The Operator is based in Austria. These terms and the use of the Service are governed by Austrian law.

The Service is a private, non-commercial project.

Privacy policy

1. Using the Service does not require the manual provision of personal data. Technical information about the User (server logs) is collected automatically.
2. Each time the User accesses the Service, log data is stored on the server: IP address, date and time of the request, type of browser and operating system, and referring website (if any). This data is used for security, technical, maintenance, and statistical purposes, but is not shared with third parties.
3. Chats are automatically saved in the User's browser, provided the User has consented through the appropriate browser privacy settings.
4. Chat content is stored on the server anonymously, meaning without an associated IP address or other identifier.
5. If the User chooses to share their GPS location, this data is stored along with the chat content.
6. The Service uses OpenAI language models. This means that User messages are transmitted to OpenAI, which has its own data retention policy (details: https://openai.com/enterprise-privacy/).
7. The User has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Terms of use

1. The Operator provides the Service free of charge.
2. The Service allows Users to discuss weather data with AI. The Service is for educational and informational purposes only. The Operator assumes no liability for its accuracy or completeness. No information provided by the Service should be regarded as advice.
3. The Service uses AI, which carries risks typical of this type of technology. AI can make mistakes, misinterpret data and provide false information.
4. In addition to AI-related risks, errors may occur in the Service itself. The Operator is not responsible for the results of such errors.
5. Chat history can be saved in the User's browser. This data should not be considered permanently stored. Its retention depends on the browser settings and may be lost when browser data is cleared or as a result of Service updates that make previously saved data unavailable.
6. The Operator reserves the right to modify the Service, temporarily suspend it, or discontinue it entirely at any time without prior notice.
7. The source code, texts, layout, design, and other proprietary elements of the Service are owned by the Operator and are protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
